Owner
B.J. Smith is a native of the Boro. She graduated from MTSU with a Liberal Studies Degree with a double emphasis in Education and Child Development/Family Studies. She is married to Jeremy Smith and they have three girls, Madie, Peyton, and Miley. When she is not at Tots' Spot, you can find her at the ballfield, on the beach, or hanging out with friends or family.

Jessie currently resides in Murfreesboro. She has been with Tots' Spot since 2009. Jessie has a bachelor's degree from MTSU in elementary education. In her down time, Jess loves to spend time with her family and travel.

Director
Carly has been with Tots since 2020. She married her high school sweetheart in 2024. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2024 with her degree in Bachelors of Science in Child and Family Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education. When she is not at Tots, she is spending time with her son, Cohen and youngest brother, Preston.

Elizabeth has been with Tots since 2023. She has her CDA degree and loves working with children. When she is not at Tots, she loves spending time with her husband, three girls, and working on the family farm.

Director
Skylar is a native of La Vergne. She started working at Tots' Spot in 2019. She is loves working with children. She is active in church. When she is not working at Tots' Spot, she is enjoying time with her family and friends.

Kayla is from La Vergne, TN. After graduating from MTSU with a focus in education, she moved overseas to teach abroad for 2 years. She has been with Tots' Spot since 2023 . Kayla loves spending time with her husband, serving at church, and traveling.

Director
Celeste graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and has been part of the Tots’ Spot family since 2018. Celeste loves working with children and finds the greatest joy in watching them learn, grow, and discover their unique personalities each day. When she’s not at the center, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, watching movies, and spending quality time with family and friends

Kristen is from Columbia, Tennessee. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Psychology. She also has over 29 years of experience working with children from infancy to school age. Kristen loves spending time with her family and friends.

Assistant Director
Paige is originally from Arvada, Colorado where she studied Early Childhood Education at Red Rocks Community College. She’s been working in childcare since 2016. She's been with Tots' Spot since 2025. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading.

Director
LaRaea Starr was born and raised in Minneapolis and is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Development and Family Relations. She brings over 21 years of experience in early childhood education. LaRaea is passionate about educating the whole child and creating nurturing environments where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Abby Raines is a dedicated early childhood professional who has been a valued member of our team since 2021. A Murfreesboro native, she began as an assistant teacher in the Red Tots classroom and quickly advanced to Lead Teacher through her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Abby is passionate about curriculum and creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support the whole child.
